Works very well and will be great to have in the backpack or travel trailer to sharpen any knife.

Very simple, straightforward, and quick to use. I don't want to learn how to use a whetstone so this product really is a lifesaver for me when it comes to keeping my knives sharp. After using the sharpener, the edges of my knives were left fingernail biting sharp and smoothy cuts through paper. There's nothing more you could really ask from it. I was able to get all five of my knives sharpened to the previously mentioned sharpness in under and hour.

This is an awesome sharpener. However I would like to know what the red button is for. Is it to change from right handed to left handed? That's my best guess.

I was going to give this a scathing review since it somehow left small notches in the cutting edge of my s30v blade. But then, I realised I was pushing AND pulling the blade when you only need to pull. I reprofiled the blade with the coarse diamond grit, and used it properly. It gave it a very nice edge fast, though not razor sharp.
Would be 5* if there was a way to easily clean the ceramic. The filings that accumulate there definitely affect giving the blade a razor finish.

Worked as shown when following the instructional video. Basic medium pressure, and a smooth balanced pull outward and up to the tip of my work knife. Several passes between the cutting and ceramic edges and my knife is sharper than originally was from the factory.

This has to be the best sharpener that i have purchased. I have used it on knives that i had sharpened using other sharpeners and this one performed so much better. I have put an edge on knives that i had given up on. Great product amazing price.

I’ve used this for at least 6 months at this point. Does everything I need it to. Inexpensive and compact. I keep it in my truck and it’s super easy to throw it in a pack whenever I might need it.

This sharpener is great! I was able to fix years of abuse on my EDC knives in minutes. This will live in my bag so I can always sharpen my tools and knives no matter where I am. Another awesome tool from Work Sharp. Best bang for your buck in my opinion. Looking to add more tools from this great company to my kit soon!

This is super handy to take anywhere. Does a great job for the size and it’s an amazing bargain.

The light weight and small size of the Pivot Knife Sharpener negate any excuse for not taking it with you on any outdoor adventure. The quality and ease of use of the Pivot far exceed its peers in the same weight/size category, and the price point makes it a no brainer. I used to only carry a small stone while hunting for emergency sharpening, but instead I now keep this one in a small pocket in my pack. While I don't use it each time I hunt, I know I am always covered in the event I need to quickly put an edge back on any blade and that I'm not sacrificing space or weight.

Works great in my hiking and camping gears. I am still not sure what the what the pivot response is doing or what side the locks the mechanism. Wish there was a better description or more information on technique.

Great little knife sharpener to keep in a pocket while hunting or tackle box while fishing. Great while in the field and need a quick edge on your knife.

This tool is a handy sharpener for knives whether in the kitchen or out in the field. I found it works well for knives but would not recommend it for honing garden shears or loppers. For the latter, I'd hoped it would be a light weight item to carry in my pocket for a quick hone on my secateurs but it wasn't possible to get the sharpener in close enough to do any good. On large loppers, it was difficult to grip the sharpener while stroking the blade. (Lacking good sense at the moment, I tried several times to find a good grip but quit after cutting myself.) All in all, this sharpener is worth having for your knives - it size and weight make it un-noticeable in your pocket and thus very handy.

Love it! It's a great size to keep in any tackle box, tool box, or even your vehicle glove box. Works great and love the new pivot technology.

Been using this on bait and filet knives in the boat and it does a great job. I really like how it has three different sharpening surfaces depending on how dull or damaged your knife is.

This tool very simple to use, and to the point. I keep this one in my tackle box when I go fishing. Love the grove for my hooks. Keeps my filet knife razor sharp, and pocket knives honed in. Awesome compact design, highly recommend to have in your tool box!

Wow! Take this with you wherever you go. I have owned many types of sharpeners, and some I have taken with me hunting and camping… but none have been as versatile as the Pivot Knife Sharpener. Every time I turn it over, it seems that there is another type of sharpener on this device or another item that can be sharpened.
First thoughts of this device are that it is surprisingly light for everything that it has. It is well engineered and durable. It has slip resistant pads on the contact surfaces to help secure the sharpener as you use it. It has finger notches to help secure the sharpener as you touch up your blades and tools. There is a convenient lanyard hole to secure it to your tool belt, hunting or fishing vest or wherever you need in order to keep it with you…
This small but capable sharpener has three types/levels of sharpening.
1.,Carbides for quickly restoring the edge
2.,Ceramic Rods for honing the edge to a much finer finish
3.,Diamond Plate for placing an edge on hard to sharpen edges like axes, hatchets, hooks, chisels or whatever edge needs to be refined.
Don’t just get this for yourself, this would be a perfect present for that special somebody on your list that already has everything. I keep mine in the truck, or in my pack when I go outdoors, hiking, fishing and camping...
If a sharp edge is important to you, then this should be with you too.
I have personally used it to touch up my machete that I frequently use to clear brush and cut kindling with. It restored the edge smoothly and uniformly along the whole length of the blade allowing me to quickly return to work without the need to go back to the shop for some other type of sharpening device.
