Don't get me wrong, I really do like the sharpening system. However, the upgrade kit really isn't an upgrade. The sharpening stones in the upgrade kit overlap the stones in the full kit. I really didn't need 2 ceramics, 2-320 grit and 2-600 grit stones. It would have been nice to see some stones over 1000 grit.

Do you think you could release some finer grit stones soon?

I love most of it the leather strap of used as instructed it tears idk if its not real leather or I did something wrong. I followed the instructions in the book no pressure was applied and follow the motions recommended in the book. Other that that its the best sharpener I have ever had I truly enjoy using it. Its a real sharp product lol

I am very satisfied with the upgrade. I have put it to use on blades needing the lower grit abrasives for reshaping and bringing to proper shape. The ceramic stone for serrated edges works nicely als . I like the convenience of the storage/carry case also. Thank you.

I purchased this on Amazon (just for the record). If you want more control and precision to you knife's edge, you need this. The basic Precision kit comes with three grits and will do you fine, but if you have a really bad edge on your old knives (or not sure of the original angle grind of the blade), you will appreciate the 220 grit to start off things. Then you can go through all the grits up to where you want your blade to be. Then about every 4-6 months (say for kitchen knives) you can just do the 400, 600, and 800 grits (and maybe the ceramic) to "retune" your blade (provided you have been taking care of those blades and have been using a sharpening steel/hone frequently. For my filet knives, Glad I got this upgrade!

I use this system all the time...kitchen knives...pocket knives...hunting fixed blades...this upgrade kit allows me to now go through the grit progression faster...producing razor sharp mirror edges. The case is a perfect solution for storing all of the system. All around great product...not to mention from an AMAZING company!!

Very useful and much needed upgrade for the Precision Adjust. Worth every penny!!

Worth the investment.

This upgrade kit takes an already well-performing sharpener and turns it into a system which rivals the sharpening results of guided systems costing many times more.
When considering cost-to-results ratio, the precision adjust with the upgrade kit is the winner, hands down.
I was turning out acceptably sharp edges with the original precision adjust, but with the upgrade kit, my edges are hair-popping sharp, every time, when the time and effort are taken to re-profile the typical factory edge.
The 220 stone included in the kit makes short work of reprofiling an edge, which sets me up for success with the sequence of additional grits included in the kit.
The tri-brasive rods in this kit seem to be manufactured to a tighter tolerance, than the original issue, which definitely helps in achieving a more consistent result.
Just be sure to use the included strop at an angle 2 degrees lower than your grinding/honing angle, to avoid rounding over the apex.
Work Sharp knocked it outta the park with this upgrade kit..!

Great product! Makes sharpening so easy and very effective .

Great system for the money sharpens pocket knives excellent. Must pay attention with longer knives or knives with significant curves. The company should also come out with a brace so the arm doesn’t flex I have made my own solution and there are other aftermarket ones but the company should release the product or make an upgraded version. Also only five of the grits are new, three of them are from the original purchase. Some additional grits would’ve been better. Still a very good product for the money.

Love this sharpener for all my pocket knifes. just don’t put an axe on it, definitely won’t hold.

My sharpener is six or so years old and pulley plastic is cracked and wondering if there is a way to get a new pulley for this good machine.

Definitely a worthy upgrade to the already good kit. Was able to get an even better edge without using other honing stones and strips.

Excellent! Every thing fits like glove, including the original rod that came in the original box. I was very happy to get rid of the box and plastic that I was using (the original box) to carry the unit around in. Perfect fit, love the double zipper.
